
South Carolina--Chrysler filed a motion Thursday morning with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in New York stating that it wants to eliminate 789 of its 3,200 dealerships by June 9.
The company plans to eliminate 11 South Carolina - Chrysler-dodge-jeep dealerships. The dealerships have until June 9 - to sell there inventory. Most likely the dealerships will file a motion.
Chrysler has received $4 billion in federal loans and has been operating in bankruptcy protection since April 30. Its sales this year are down 46 percent compared with the first four months of last year and it reported a $16.8 billion net loss for 2008.
11 South Carolina Chrysler-dodge-jeep dealerships are among those proposed for elimination by the company. They include:

MULLINS CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP located in MULLINS, South Carolina
RACEWAY CHRY-JEEP-DODGE located in HARTSVILLE, South Carolina
