CAPE CANAVERAL, FLORIDA. — Canada's finest blast off into space on Saturday.The two Canadians made a significant jump into history. Julie Payette and Robert Thirsk set to led the way for the Canadians. History in the making for the Canadians.



The Endeavour crew plans to spend 12 days at the station and conduct five spacewalks to install the porch, replace batteries and tackle a long list of maintenance tasks.


The Crew includes two Canadians -- station flight engineer Robert Thirsk and astronaut Endeavour Julie Payette -- Japan's Koichi Wakata, Europe's Frank De Winne, Russian cosmonauts Gennady Padalka and Roman Romanenko and seven U.S. astronauts.


Endeavour will blast off at 7:17 a.m. EDT (1117 GMT) on Saturday from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida..
