Look back on Michael Jackson Remarkable Career:(1958-2009)

Michael Jackson began his young remarkable career as a
pop star in the 1960's as the stand-out member of the Jackson 5. The singer was raised in a family of professional musicians. His father, Joseph, was a harsh disciplinarian, but the children produced exceptional work as superstars. Looking
back at the singer's career.

Michael released his first single as a solo performer - the aching ballad "Got To Be There", a major transatlantic hit. Also revival of Bobby Day 's rock 'n' roll novelty "Rockin' Robin" reached number 2 on the US chart in 1972, while the sentimental film theme "Ben" topped the chart later in the year. The singer was unquestionably the biggest pop star of the '80s, and certainly one of the most popular recording artists of all time.

In his prime, Jackson was an unstoppable juggernaut, possessed of all the tools to dominating the charts seemingly at will: an instantly identifiable voice, eye-popping dance moves, stunning musical versatility, and loads of sheer star power. His aspirations for success as a solo artist would be realized beyond anyone's wildest imagination in the following decade with the release of his albums Off The Wall, Thriller, and Bad.

The Pop Star was an idol to all even if you didn't like him as a person you respect him for his accomplishments.Michael was a supreme talent and dealt with a tremendous amount of pain. He made many critically bad choices over the years, but it's impossible for me to not still respect his talent and imagination.

His appearance changed dramatically, followed by endless tabloid coverage of plastic surgery, rhinoplasty, and skin lightening.

Overall Thriller stayed top of the charts for over two years, spent 37 nonconsecutive weeks at number one, and became the best-selling album of all time; it went on to sell 25 million copies in the U.S. Naturally, Jackson won a slew of awards, including a record eight Grammys in one night, and snagged the largest endorsement deal ever when he became a spokesman for Pepsi (he would later be burned in an accident while filming a commercial). Thriller made history as the first and only record to be America's top-selling album two years running (1983 and 1984). In February 1984, the pop sensation held a record-breaking 12 Grammy nominations, going on to win eight, which stands as the record for most Grammy Awards to be won by anyone in a single year.

The King of Pop is gone but the beat goes on:
